Back Again!

After an even longer absense from blogging, I have returned with the intention of once again writing about the current music scene here in South Arkansas. Time passes, things change, and that's certainly been true about the state of music here in El Dorado, AR & the surrounding area.

There are currently two primary music venues operating in downtown El Dorado...The Corner Cafe', and The Laredo Grill. Both small in size, but both offering up some quality live music entertainment of all genre types each weekend. Artbeats cafe' also offers local musicians a chance to showcase their talents with regular open mic events, as well as periodically bringing in acts from elsewhere for shows in it's intimate atmosphere.

There are currently several local acts that are working hard on creating original rock music in this area...Stoning Cain, The Unfit Mothers, Kenotica, Last Hour, Judging The Silence, Vengeance Xchanged, and Forever Exiled to name a few, as well as some exciting acts from around the Ark-La-Tx area & beyond that are contributing to generating new interest in the music scene here.

The success of special annual events such as Bugs, Bands, & Bikes, The Budweiser Free Summer Concert Series, ScumFest-El Dorado, and of course MusicFest El Dorado...gives this area a reputation for putting on live music events like no other
town of this size, currently just under 20k total population.

So here we go...ElDorado Scene has returned, and I look forward to once again offering glimpses into this varied & musically oriented area!
