STONING CAIN enters studio, 4/22!

The guys from STONING CAIN have been hard at work nailing down some original music for their demo CD which they'll be recording this Sunday, 4/22 in Pine Bluff, AR.

Drawing from varied & differing influences, this band refuses to be locked into one-dimensional music. One genre is not enough!

A product of the live music scene here in El Dorado... these four young men have been privileged to see, hear, & learn from some of the best of the area musicians, as well as...the fine touring bands who have performed in this town.

There'll be several opportunities in the very near future to see these guys, so keep your eyes peeled, and most especially be sure & catch them at the 2007 Crawfish Boil & Battle of the Bands on May 5th in downtown El Dorado!

STONING CAIN is own it's way!

Well, it's done...all in all, a very good experience! They certainly learned some things about their music, as well as themselves, that's for sure!

The first hour there was some nervousness, and you could tell the adrenaline was pumping them up a tad bit. They did very well adjusting to it, though...and got down to brass tacks after that.

The engineer was very impressed with the music...he was not expecting them to be at the skill level they displayed. He even made the statement that he had worked with musicians who were much older & more experienced than them who didn't do half as well in the studio.

This guy should know...over 30 years as a full-time musician & and tour player, as well as being a graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston certainly gave credence to any observations he made.

Both his bands tour Europe each year, and his latest CD...Cradle To The Grave, by Liquid Grove Mojo...is selling very well across the pond. At last accounting, I believe he said they had sold around 35,000 copies, and it hasn't been out very long.

The biggest positives...the music was very tight, well constructed, and unique coming from young men their age. Lots of influences were readily apparent...you could tell they have been exposed to lots of varying genres. It will definitely spark some attention in these parts. I was surprised that it didn't take them very many takes per tune to nail it down. They really rose to the occasion.

It was a great experience for the first time out... a decent demo was accomplished that definitely accomplishes the purpose of letting folks know what these guys are about, and these youngsters will hit the studio next time with a broader understanding of how the process works, what all is involved, and what they need to improve on before they hit the studio again.

It was a good day.
